Want to visit the Grand Canyon with your family but you’re worried that your kids are still too young and might be bored?
Great ideas for a SUMMER trip to Chicago with the kids. We visited last July and our 9-year olds loved the John Hancock Observatory and the Lincoln Park Zoo. Also, we took an Architectural Boat Tour of Chicago which was way more fascinating for the adults than the kids. Luckily the complimentary lemonade and cookies on board offered up a truce.
Ava and I had the pleasure of attending the “Mini Masters” Culinary Event with award-winning Executive Chef Joan Monfaredi at the Park Hyatt Toronto on the 20th July. The children in the group received Chef Hats that they decorated themselves and personalized aprons. They spent the morning in the kitchen preparing hand-rolled Pappardelle and meatballs, and learning to decorate dessert plates. This was the perfect vacation treat for Ava who loves to cook and interact with all things “chocolate”. Her dessert plate was a chocolate masterpiece! Kudos to the Park Hyatt and Chef Joan for hosting such a family-friendly event culminating in a delicious sit-down luncheon with an imaginative and healthy sharing menu.
Marco Beach Ocean Resort, Marco Island is a great option if you’re looking for a beachfront, all-suite property with a full kitchen. The Resort is filled with families and this makes perfect sense. Sometimes, after a day of surf and sun with little ones, the last thing you want to undertake is a restaurant outing with the cranky! Bring your groceries (and PUBLIX) is just a couple of blocks away, and dine in your pajamas, when convenient. There is even an oven in the suite and pots, pans and dishes are provided as well. The Resort classifies itself as “boutique” property with 98 one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites. The pool is small but the beach area reserved for guests and lined with loungers and umbrellas is relatively expansive. Service is casual and friendly. There is no self-parking on property. Valet is $18.00 per night.
My nephew was celebrating his fourth Birthday and the Hotel very kindly acknowledged this auspicious event with balloons, chocolate and stuffed toys all of which made him very happy.
