Florence - Fascinations, Food and Ferragamo

Florence - Fascinations, Food and Ferragamo

Although I’ve had the good fortune to visit Florence a few times, I always leave with the regret of not spending longer. The city is captivating, steeped in history and overflowing with a wealth of art.  First-time visitors should make a list:

Le Mas Candille

Le Mas Candille

Le Mas Candille

This was one of my favorite picks during Virtuoso Week. Le Mas Candille is a Relais & Chateaux Property in the medieval village of Mougins on the French Riviera and just 45 minutes drive from Aix-en-Provence. It has the only Shiseido Spa in France. You can take cooking classes with Serge Gouloumes, the Hotel's Michelin Star Chef or just relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape. 46 bedrooms and with complimentary Virtuoso amenities: Daily buffet breakfast for 2, 30 minute spa treatment for up to 2 people, once per stay. An excellent choice if you're heading to Monaco's Grand Prix or you're interested in touring the historic town of Grasse and the perfumeries.

Let's start planning travel!

Dear Friends,

I've just returned from Virtuoso Travel Week in Las Vegas.  I had face to face meetings with over 400 Suppliers of luxury travel, tours and experiences and I am so excited about the vast range of options for my clients.  Developing personal relationships with Owners and Managers of Hospitality Services allows me to enhance your travel experiences and I have some wonderful offers that include a 3rd or 4th night free at select properties, along with complimentary amenities such as breakfast for 2 daily, upgrades (sometimes confirmed at booking or based upon availability) and often a Spa credit or a Food & Beverage Credit.  When possible, take advantage of this value in Hotels with Michelin starred restaurants.

It's not too early to start thinking about Thanksgiving and Festive Season Travel.  Already, there is limited availability in the luxury properties of the Caribbean.  Also, Fall is the perfect time to find more affordable rates at Hotels in Europe and cruises.   I have some fantastic itineraries for Foreign Independent Tours to New Zealand and Australia, Myanmar and Cambodia, Turkey, India, China and South Africa.  If you are interested in River Cruising, small luxury yachts offer fascinating trips down the Mekong, Amazon, Danube, and Rhine.  In Africa you can combine a Chobe River cruise with a Safari.   Relax and rejuvenate in the beautiful islands of Hawaii and take volcano tours by helicopter.  Visit Thailand and enjoy the tented camps and elephant sanctuaries.  Looking for spacious, relatively affordable rooms in luxury Hotels in New York City?  I've got some great ideas, and some of the suites can accommodate a family of 4 and offer a full kitchen, washer and dryer.

I'm fascinated with South America - Cruises to the Galapagos, riding the Hiram Bingham train from Cuzco to Machu Picchu, Patagonia and Buenos Aires.  If anyone is interested in going to the World Cup Soccer Event in Brazil, there are still packages available.

I'll be posting some of the promotional offers I received at Travel Week on my Facebook page and on my website.

If you have any specific travel interests and need more information, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Warmest regards,

Karen

Bellagio Blows It Out The Water Travel Week 2013

View from the Bellagio

View from the Bellagio

This is not my first stay at Bellagio but it’s a first-time visit to Vegas for work, instead of leisure.  I have always liked this Hotel.  It’s beautiful, classically luxurious, and service, especially in a Hotel this size (3,933 rooms and suites), is extremely good.  In the Conference Areas of the Hotel, the restrooms have cloth hand towels and large bottles of lotion, hair spray and mouthwash.

Hosting and feeding 4000+ people for Travel Week is no small task but Bellagio’s staff has been exceptional.  I am also happy to note a level of attentiveness in one particular area that has been overlooked during recent stays at other luxury properties.  My rooms have always have yielded an ice bucket but this has largely remained empty during my stay unless I filled it myself from the machines at the end of the floor.  No room attendant has voluntarily filled the ice bucket at turndown.  Every afternoon, when I return to my room at Bellagio, my ice bucket is filled.  I am very impressed and appreciative of this consideration.  Wi-Fi is also free in the rooms.  - Complimentary Virtuoso amenities include $40 breakfast vouchers per day, 4 spa facility passes valued at $116 OR lunch credit at Olives for $85, once per stay.

The Park Hyatt is the only luxury Hotel in Toronto without an adjoining residence/condominium building and occupies an enviable location in Yorkville.
